Nickel Tile was the subcontractor on our custom-built home in The Villages. The LVP was not laid very well. There are many repeated patterns throughout the house. Also, some areas have a step pattern which is not a desirable layout. However, this step layout is not throughout the whole house - it is not consistent as it is laid in a different pattern in other areas. Also, there is a gap between the quarter round and the plank in the main dining area. During our closing walkthrough, we pointed out to the superintendent that the flooring was scratched along several of the main walkways throughout the house as if something sharp and heavy was dragged along. Besides pointing it out during our closing walkthrough, we reported it on our initial punch list. Our phone calls to have the flooring replaced kept getting ignored by Nickel Tile as we drew closer to our one-year warranty date. Eventually one of the Nickel Tile workers brought in a friend named Terry who said the floor, “could have been laid a lot better.” He pointed out the step pattern and other defects. We thought Terry was going to do the replacement floor for us, laying new planks from the edges rather than patching and gluing. A large amount of flooring was delivered to our garage at the nine-month mark. We kept asking when it would get installed and Nickel Tile never returned our calls. Based on our previous interactions with them, we decided we did not want Nickel Tile to lay the mixed lot flooring that sat in our garage for an extraordinarily long time. Not the quality you would expect for the extra $24,000 we paid to upgrade to this LVP flooring. The brand is Trinity and the pattern is Heath.
